Update 14 December 2009

Quick update guys.

Dad has handed over all the new parts like headlamps, tail lights to the workshop so they can start fitting them. It should be finished by this weekend. I'll be in Jakarta for Christmas so it has to stay there for at least a week before i can pick it up and move it to the engine swapper.

Dad has also helped visit a scrapped Charmant in Parung area. Not much was left on this one. I only took the roof water channel chrome strips for 10 bucks. Here's some pics of the dying beast.
Any workshop recommendation for me to have my engine swap? Preferably it's located near Tebet or Cibubur so monitoring can be done easily. It should be good with injection wiring, of course. I'll also tuck the wires inside the engine bay so that's another challenge for this workshop.

  1. loving the progress man, hopefully by the time my engine swap starts you should be doing the same as well, are you doing the wiring yourself>?, if so make sure to make a full walk through for me lol, i got some work doing on my 4A this weekend... dropping the intake and exhaust to cut and plug an auxiliary water line :S, thats gonna take half the day, the paint is looking super on your car... makes me feel like going black but i am going metallic blue as planned... marine grade paint XD, well im sure you remember the details =), found some goodies that i plan on ordering for my car that i will share with you later, another thing... did you sell the previous rims yet?, if not i would urge you to reconsider lol, dont wanna be doing wild stuff with those OGs lol.

  4. you should go blue as planned. one of us should at least be brave enough to do it. it's too late for me.. black is safe but won't look as interesting as metallic blue.

as for the rims, i haven't sold them yet. you've got a good point there actually. first, as u said, drift and OG don't sound good being in a sentence. second, used 15 inch tires are more expensive than 14s. and third, i have to use spacers on this OG and i prefer not to drift on these although Stanley said it's OK.

oh well, i am not hurrying in selling those rims.. if i get a good price for it, why not? maybe i'll get myself watanabe replicas with the dough. replicas FTW! lol

  5. lol, more like replicas for drifting lol, i still highly doubt that you are going to try drifting with such a mint car.

  6. i am not even sure if i can keep the bodywork in that shape for a long time.. you see, i might have to get my fenders flared with those wide OGs, depending how they look when installed with spacers. so, yeah why not drift the car if you're going to wreck the body anyway? but that's just me talking before i see how sweet the car would look later.

  10. yeah, i know drifting and smooth ride don't mix well together.. dents and engine problem are bound to happen when you slide your car sideways. we'll see about abusing later when i've finished The Dog..
