charmant4agte?

Sorry for the lack of update. The EFI wiring thing really got me quite busy but i certainly learned a great deal from it. A lot to share with you guys when i am done. Stay tuned.

Anyway, really tempted to buy this..

Used turbocharget set for 700 bucks. It was from a Honda Jazz (Honda Fit?). That's a damn good deal considering the stuff included in the set. Let's see.. there's CT12 turbo, huge intercooler, extra injector housing and the injectors included, complete exhaust system, oil supply line adapter, hoses, pipes.. Sure some parts won't fit on my Charmant but most of the important stuff are still applicable.

I still need to get the aux injector controller module but i can built one myself without hurting my wallet. So what do you think? 700 bucks is just about the borderline price for me. Any cheaper then i would buy this kit straight away.. LOL.

Even if i buy this, i won't be fitting them right away. I want to familiarize myself with the extra power coming from the smallport first before i go adding more horsepower (and problem) to the gas pedal.

I am not really a fan of forced induction but also not one of N/A either. I am all about learning new things by doing stuff like this. So it doesn't matter for me if i keep The Dog N/A or decided to keep a snail under the hood, as long as i am learning something from it, that's fine with me and i am sure you'd agree that successfully turbocharging your engine would boost experience points significantly.

    nice edgar!
but there is alot of work to be done that your probably not aware.
first you need to get some 4agze pistons as thelower the compresion ration and are stronger.
then youll have to by an after market ECU . thats also alot of cash.
youll need to find a good tuner. build an exauht manifold. downpipe intercooler pipes and so on.
stick with the normal small port a youll see that is enought for a beginer like you.

    and also. N/A RULZZZZ :P

  2. true about the pistons. i need to lower the comp but 4AGZE pistons aren't necessary. 4AC or 7AFE ones should work well on lowering the compression. besides, i am only going to boost for 7 psi max so no need to replace the piston rods.

also true about the piping and exhaust. that should cost me around 300 bucks to fabricate.

aftermarket ECU is not needed. as i said, i could built myself the aux injector controller and the fuel cut defencer. that shouldn't cost a lot. i'll share the circuit if any one wants it.

but yeah, i'll stick with N/A for now.. i'll buy the kit only if it gets to 600 bucks and even then i won't be fitting them straight away.

  3. sorry.. language barrier was in the way. i meant the conrod, not the piston rod.

  4. N/A or no way, i would like to yell at you the reasons why not to go N/A but its up to you what you want to get and how you want to get it from your 4AGE :).

  5. Stock 4AGE is mostly known for its durability, that is.. if you keep it STOCK though... LOL!

  6. lololol.. okay guys i get it.. it's not like i am going turbo the next day i finish my car.. like i said, 700 bucks is just a tad too much for me and even if i get it, it would still be months or years before i get to install it..

if it does reach 600 bucks, i've promised myself that i would buy it. let's just hope it's sold before it reaches that point, shall we? lol.

i still have to make new exhaust system, anyway. that's why i think why not do it once and properly, including preparing for turbo.

  7. you cant prepare for a turbo and N/a at the same time.
for a turbo you would need as less restriction as you can, lets say one back box and 3" all the way.
but in N/a form you would need a bit restriction. in example im runing a 2" all the way to the back box who is a bit restrictive. that way i have a bit of torque for regular dayly drive. and if i push it it wont be restrictive in high rpm.
so anyway you would buy this kit for nothing.

  8. this was what i had in mind: i'll prepare the extractor to accept turbo (get the mounting flange etc) but from the downpipe to muffler and tailpipe, i'll use diameter fit for N/A. will that work? i mean, it's restrictive due to the smaller diameter from the downpipe to the back but if i someday go turbo, i'll just replace from them. lol. that's a lot to replace but at least i don't have to get the extractors redone. n00b talk?
